I am a researcher on Facebook Community Integrity team, supporting product features for areas of high-severity individual harm. This includes suicide, self-harm, non-consensual intimate imagery, and child safety. Although I am primarily a quantitative researcher, I strongly believe that listening to individuals’ stories gives better understanding and critical nuance to what the numbers say.
Prior to Facebook, I was a researcher at Boeing, where my projects included immune system-inspired techniques for virus and malware detection in on-board airplane networks. I received my PhD from University of Michigan’s School of Information, and a BA in Art History from Cornell University.
