Meta Research

I am a Research Scientist at Facebook working on tools and algorithms for privacy preservation of sensitive data, particularly how to reason about causality, at scale, while preventing individual information leakage, though new intersections and combinations of privacy enhancing technologies (PETs) such as differential privacy, MPC, and homomorphic encryption.

Previously I was a Research Scientist at Harvard University in computer science leading a research programming team building differential privacy tools such as PSI, OpenDP, and SmartNoise (joint with Microsoft), as well as work on automated machine learning (AutoML). Before that I taught on the faculties of Penn State and UCLA while researching methodological tools for broad problems in quantitative social science, such as missing data and measurement error.
