Meta Research

I’m a Facebook research scientist leading an interdisciplinary team on fairness and bias research in AI systems and product development. Prior to joining the Facebook AI team I completed my PhD in Applied Mathematics at Cornell, where I worked on applied machine learning, network science, and dynamical systems with Jon Kleinberg and Steven Strogatz. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont in physics and applied math, where I studied astrophysics and pulsars with Joanna Rankin, and applied math and sentiment analysis with Chris Danforth and Peter Dodds.
