I am a Research Scientist in the Statistics and Privacy group at Meta. Before that I was a member of the Research Staff at the IDA Center for Communications in Princeton, NJ. Previous to that I was a Research Staff Member at the IBM Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. While there I was the recipient of three Division Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards, one Corporate Technical Achievement Award, and a Patent Portfolio Award. I am the co-inventor of Elliptic Curve Cryptography, and the co-inventor of a widely used data compression algorithm. I'm a fellow of IEEE, IACR and ACM, and the recipient of the RSA Excellence in Mathematics Award, the Eduard Rhein Foundation Technology Award, the Levchin Prize, the IEEE Third Millennium medal and the Certicom Technology Award. I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics (Number Theory) from Harvard University.
