Quantitative Researcher
I am a Social Scientist at Facebook on the Instagram Research Team in New York, NY.
I earned my PhD in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where I specialized in school segregation, public perceptions, and research methodology. My dissertation, “A Nation Rated?”, identified how school accountability ratings reflect and reinforce existing social inequality and how they influence parents’ perceptions and decision-making.
My current research focuses on understanding and measuring how people’s attitudes, beliefs, or stated needs are shaped and how they relate to their actions or behaviors over time. I identify ways to build more equity, integrity, and trust in rankings and algorithms.
