Meta Research

I am a Research Scientist in the XR Tech team at Meta Reality Labs in Zürich. My focus is on developing core technologies for Social Presence and Mixed Reality that bridge the boundaries between the Real and Virtual World, including 3D computer vision, machine learning, graphics and experience design.

Before my time at Meta, I headed the Imaging and Video group at Disney Research. We developed research and technologies for Disney park attractions and movie productions such as Soarin’ over California and Soarin’ around the World, Pirates of the Caribbean, Maleficent, Cinderella, Big Hero 6, and various others.

I obtained my PhD in Computer Science at RWTH Aachen in 2008, and spent one year as a postdoctoral researcher at the Computer Graphics Laboratory at ETH Zurich.
