Director, Core AI, Facebook AR/VR
I am the Director of the Core AI Group within Meta AR/VR. My group does a mix of research and product development focusing on computer vision. Areas of work for the group include: vision on mobile devices, visual perception, deep neural nets, imaging algorithms, and computational photography.
Prior to Meta, I worked at Microsoft Research and Bell Labs. At Microsoft, my research resulted in several apps including Hyperlapse, Photosynth, Blink, and ICE (Image Composite Editor) and product features in Windows, Bing, and Office. At Bell Labs, I focused on video processing, developing compression algorithms (MPEG, H.263) and VLSI implementations. My research has been presented at SIGGRAPH, CVPR, and the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference. I hold 62 US patents. I received an MS in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
