Ran joined the Facebook Growth Population Survey Science team as a researcher in November 2015. Her research focuses on surveying users in specialized countries to better understand existing and potential new Facebook users. Prior to Facebook, she served as the lead quantitative analyst at an international research institute where she conducted nationally representative surveys across Asia and Africa to better understand what factors prevent people in developing countries from financial inclusion. She holds a Masters in statistics from George Washington University (2014) and a Masters in psychology from East China Normal University (2011).
During her first Master’s program, she worked as a management consultant to help organizations recruit, train and evaluate people, and conducted research to better understand the psychological factors that help people survive and thrive.
