We create new, category-defining consumer hardware and software that are immersive, social, and increase the depth of people’s connections. Our team includes a diverse group of problem solvers, inventors, and proven visionaries who are relentless about transforming everyday occurrences into rich experiences that have the potential to improve the way billions of people live.
We’ve introduced our first generation of Oculus virtual reality products and are committed to driving the technology forward through continued innovation at Reality Labs. In the future, our AR glasses will merge the physical and digital worlds, blending what’s real with what’s possible, resulting in the next mainstream, must-have, wearable consumer technology.
Within Reality Labs, our world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers are creating the future of virtual and augmented reality. Together, these innovations will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today — and just as personal computers have done over the past 45 years, AR and VR will ultimately change everything about how we work, play, and connect. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interface, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. Some of those will advance much faster than others, but they all need to happen to enable AR and VR that are so compelling that they become an integral part of our lives, and we are making all of them happen.
We’re working on technology that will change — not just computer gaming — but potentially how all of us interact with computers, information, and each other every day. I think it’s going to be the biggest game-changer I’ve ever seen — and I can’t wait to see how far we can take it.
