Research

Michael is a PhD student at the University of Waterloo, where he is supervised by Khuzaima Daudjee.

Michael’s research is focused on designing and building large-scale data systems that are elastic, scalable and self-managing. As an example, he has developed a system for managing erasure-coded data that places data dynamically to reduce access latencies.

While completing his Bachelors of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Michael was an intern at Facebook on the Service and Data Infrastructure teams.
