Benjamin Berg is a Computer Science Ph.D. Student at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is advised by Mor Harchol-Balter. Benjamin’s research focuses on performance modeling, developing stochastic models to analyze and improve computer systems. His work has considered the problem of how to schedule parallelizable jobs in multicore systems, as well as how to optimize caching layers in large-scale web services. Benjamin graduated from Duke University in 2013 and has spent time at Google and with the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.
