I am a PhD student in Computer Science at Stanford University, co-advised by Jure Leskovec and Johan Ugander. Previously, I received my BA at Columbia University, where I studied Computer Science and Sociology. I’m interested in developing computational methods to model complex societal systems, combining techniques from network science, data science, and machine learning. My recent work on modeling the spread of COVID-19 with large-scale human mobility data has led to publications in Nature, KDD, and IAAI, and won a KDD 2021 Best Paper Award. Our findings received extensive media coverage, and governments around the world have used our results to shape their public health policies.
