I am a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my bachelor degree from Beihang University. I am now working on computer networks and big data systems, advised by Aditya Akella. Nowadays the performance gap between network line-rates and the amount of data that a modern CPU can process is widening rapidly. To overcome the CPU limitation, multiple online service providers are increasingly considering offloading host functions into in-network accelerators. My overarching research goal is to explore the fundamental role that programmable hardware play in future datacenter applications and multi-tenant settings. I am very keen to explore fundamental trade-offs in the design space, and in showing important use cases for SmartNICs and RDMA networks.
