Ashwin Rajadesingan is a PhD student at the University of Michigan’s School of Information, advised by Ceren Budak and Paul Resnick. His research is broadly on computational social science and social computing aimed at building more deliberative online communities. In particular, drawing from social psychology and political science theories, he conducts studies, both observational and experimental, to inform designing online spaces that can facilitate quality cross-cutting political interactions. Prior to Michigan, he received a master’s in Computer Science from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s in Computer Science from VIT University, India.
