Human Computer Interaction & UX

Understanding and improving social experiences

Human Computer Interaction and user experience researchers at Meta seek to deeply understand and improve the experiences of the over two billion people around the world who use our product and services every month.

Our research spans everything from new gesture interfaces to learning how developing countries use mobile phones for maternal health. Or, what it’s like to play soccer against someone 3,000 miles away to debating the future of online education. Using evaluative methods, including ethnography, usability, survey measurement, experimental design, log data analysis, as well as building new immersive experiences in virtual space, we gain a better understanding of how people interact and engage through and with technology. We apply our learnings to help product teams at Meta manage design for life’s interactions and social media engagements, as well as push boundaries in new immersive technologies.
